Des Fortune

Des has over 28 years experience in Fire Safety Engineering design and consultancy in Ireland and the UK, having worked on many prestigious projects including prominent Airports, Shopping Centres, Sports Arena, Industrial Complexes, Office and Residential Developments. Des became Fire Safety Manager for Dublin Airport in 2006. In this role Des was responsible for all matters relating to fire safety and fire safety management at Dublin Airport. In particular, Des was responsible for the technical review of the Fire Safety Design for Terminal 2 on behalf of the DAA (Dublin Airport Authority) prior to submission to the Local Authority and the design, construction and sign off of the new Pier D facility. In addition, Des is an Approved Inspector for An Bord Pleanála and a lecturer on Trinity College’s Postgraduate Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering.
