Sean has over 36 years of experience in Environmental Consultancy and is a registered Professional Geologist with the Institute of Geologists of Ireland (IGI) and also registered under the European Federation of Geologists. He has been a member of the Board of the IGI and is currently the Chair of the Disciplinary Committee of the IGI. He has been a member of EPA Steering Groups in the development of guidance on the investigation of contaminated land and in the assessment of unregulated landfill sites.

He was also a member of the EPA-led Groundwater Working Group responsible for developing guidance for the River Basin Management Plans and was the Project Director for the groundwater elements of the Southwestern and Southeastern River Basin Management Plans between 2002 and 2012. He was joint owner and Managing Director of O’Callaghan Moran & Associates for 27 years before its acquisition by ORS in 2024.

He has a broad range of experience in the fields of hydrogeology and contaminated land assessment and remediation both in Ireland and abroad, having worked in the USA, Canada, France, Spain, Italy, and the UK. In ORS, he is responsible for growing the Contaminated and Hydrogeology Pillar and brings his extensive range of experience to mentor and grow the team both within this area and across the Environmental Division of ORS.
