Why Did You Choose ORS?
One of the main reasons I joined ORS after I completed my studies at DkIT was their comprehensive Graduate Programme. The Shape Your Future Graduate Programme has had an amazing impact on me starting my professional career as it has helped me understand and achieve career goals with the support senior staff who have been working in the field for years. The multidisciplinary services that ORS offers means that I’ve been able to mix with graduates in different disciplines such as Project Management, Civil and Structural Engineering, Energy, Health and Safety Management and Fire Engineering. This has presented me with an opportunity to gain an insight into other graduate’s experiences, in each individual sector, and share my own experiences.
Hands-On Training for Graduate Surveyors and Engineers
ORS offers hands-on training and guidance from experienced professionals in the construction industry. During my time at ORS, I have gained invaluable experience both on site and off site, which has helped develop my skills as a graduate surveyor. These skills include conducting surveys, analysing data, preparing reports, and collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
The wide range of projects that ORS are involved in, and that I have been involved in, has provided me the opportunity to assess and understand various building types in the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors that have presented many challenges which results in key learning outcomes.
Continued Professional Development and Knowledge Sharing
Further learning and development are ongoing activities at ORS. Continued Professional Development (CPD) is a key part of the graduate programme. Being able to take part in CPD sessions on a regular basis through ORS’s Lunch & Learn’s, our Knowledge Sharing CPD’s and having constant access to senior staff has helped me to expand my knowledge significantly, making me a stronger graduate.
A Positive and Flexible Work Environment
ORS goes above and beyond to ensure that each member of staff has a progressive and enjoyable working environment. The hybrid working model ORS has in place has many benefits, allowing me to plan my week around my personal interests and committments. ORS has several in house committees dedicated to social experiences, health and wellbeing committees, plus many more, and they do tremendous work to ensure that everyone in ORS has a very positive workplace experience.
