Through the delivery of these surveys, ORS provided Irish Rail with reliable, high-quality, and actionable asset data, establishing a robust evidence base to support ongoing asset management and long-term lifecycle planning. The systematic inspections allowed for the early identification, assessment, and prioritisation of structural defects and emerging risks, enabling targeted, proactive interventions. This approach reduced reliance on reactive maintenance, helping to minimise service disruption and avoid the higher costs typically associated with unplanned remedial works.
The structured survey methodology ensured that residential properties within the portfolio are maintained in a safe, compliant, and fit-for-purpose condition, while also generating consistent, comparable data to inform evidence-based decision-making.
