Overview of service

ORS provided end-to-end project management and coordination for multiple commercial retail fitouts, supporting Howdens across several sites nationwide.

These sites included completed projects in Tralee (Kerry), Blackpool (Cork), Naas (Kildare); ongoing projects in Galway, Wexford, Navan and Westmeath.

The projects were delivered within tight time frames, enabling Howdens to align store openings with lease start dates and operational schedules.

Tight Timelines

Retail clients often need rapid completion to commence trading. ORS developed detailed construction schedules with clear milestones, dependencies and progress tracking.

Unforeseen Site Conditions

Existing buildings sometimes included uneven floors, damaged walls, non-compliant wiring or plumbing. Thorough site surveys and inspections were conducted, with rapid approval of variations in collaboration with the client.

Compliance and Approvals

Projects had to meet building regulations, fire safety requirements, and accessibility standards. Certifiers were engaged early, and all necessary documentation (drawings, fire layouts etc.) was submitted before work commenced. Inspections were scheduled at key milestones to ensure compliance.

Client Collaboration

ORS maintained open and proactive communication with Howdens through regular weekly meetings, detailed progress reports, and close on-site coordination. This consistent engagement ensured transparency across all stages of the work and supported clear, timely decision-making between all parties involved.

This collaborative approach allowed potential issues to be identified and resolved promptly, minimising disruption and maintaining momentum. As a result, the projects remained on schedule, met key milestones, and were delivered in full compliance with all relevant standards and requirements.
