Project Outcome
ORS implemented a strategic, best-practice methodology to assess the site’s value for non-breeding bird species, including desktop analysis, survey design and execution, and detailed target species and habitat recording. This approach ensured that ecological constraints were clearly identified and effectively managed.
While foraging and resident species were present, the site was not considered significant for SCI-listed waterfowl or waders. Early ecological input proved critical in identifying mitigation requirements and avoiding potential delays associated with seasonal survey constraints, supporting an efficient planning process.
