Project Outcome
The project has progressed successfully through its initial phases, with key infrastructure delivered in line with programme requirements to support the reopening of the mine. Close collaboration with the client, specialist contractors and the wider design team ensured the phased redevelopment remained on programme while accommodating evolving operational requirements.
A significant achievement was the successful assessment and retention of existing infrastructure, including the teepee structure, avoiding the need for major replacement works. The reuse of existing concrete slabs for stockpile storage areas also reduced material consumption, construction costs and environmental impact while making effective use of the site’s existing assets.
The project remains active, with future phases supporting the transition towards full production. Once operational, the redeveloped mine is expected to create approximately 50 permanent jobs, with ORS continuing to support the client across multiple workstreams as the development progresses.
