Project Outcome
The scope of the refurbishment project at Mount Carmel Community Hospital includes extensive works to modernise and repair various parts of the hospital. The project has been carried out under a fast-track programme, emphasising a Design & Build approach, where design work is conducted concurrently with on-site construction activities. Notably, the refurbishment is being executed while the hospital remains operational at other levels, showcasing ORS’ ability to manage complex projects in active environments.
Our team collaborated closely with the contractor, design teams, and Technical Advisors (TAs) on a daily basis. Regular site visits have been conducted to address and overcome any challenges, as well as adhering to the Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR) process requirements.
This project has been carried out as a result of the HSE’s strategic planning to improve and create new surgical hubs, enhancing Ireland’s healthcare infrastructure.
